Structural Bodywork Clinic: Part of your health care continuum
Jeanne Obermeier | Structural Bodywork Clinic | 3702 East Lake Street | Minneapolis | (612) 239-4160
Structural Bodywork is the field of muscular-skeletal manipulation and rehabilitation that is playing an increasingly important role in health care. Structural Bodywork is designed to complement the work done by health care professionals.
The word “structural” refers to the fact that any musculo-skeletal dysfunction can be related to multiple body systems including muscles or related tendons, ligaments and fascia. Our mission at Structural Bodywork Clinic is to understand and treat these structures and eliminate the pain caused by trauma or overuse.
Our therapists create a Personalized Plan for each client that aligns with our focused, solution-based philosophy. Through ensuing bodywork sessions, it is expected that each client will enjoy long-term results and thus, an improved quality of life.
Jeanne Obermeier, Principal of Structural Bodywork Clinic, teaches Advanced Therapeutic Massage at CenterPoint, the leading bodywork institution in the Twin Cities. Over the years, many of her clients who have experienced chronic pain or struggled to rehabilitate injuries have found relief and regained full range of motion with her results-oriented, solution-focused treatments.
The approach: Sessions begin by discussing your health history. Your areas of discomfort, tension or injury are identified to customize your personal plan. The discussion provides you with an overview of what to expect and a forum for answering any questions you have before the session begins. Our goal at Structural Bodywork Clinic is to educate you about the specifics of the regimen used and, where necessary, recommend exercises that you can do at home.
The tools: Read client testimonials.
- Trigger Point Therapy addresses small contractions in soft tissue areas of the body that can result from overuse or trauma.
- Cross-Fiber Friction (Myofascial Release) is the physical manipulation of muscles and fascia. If the client has older, nagging injuries that persist in causing pain their personalized plan will focus on those areas and get them on a path to healing beginning with the first session. Those who have experienced chronic pain or pain from a significant injury often feel remarkably better after these initial sessions. However, those who complete a multiple session program are more likely to enjoy long-term results.
- Referrals are made occasionally if the nature of the issues discovered fall outside of the reach of our bodywork solutions. We have a full range of medical professionals who can be recommended and, if needed, can work in concert with continued massage therapy.
My goal is to help you live in a personal state of well-being. That includes providing bodywork and tips to keep you on track between sessions. Stay well by reading my blog for tips on healthy living and self-care. READ blog.
